IFW Dresden

The Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research, IFW Dresden, is a non-university research institute and a member of the Leibniz Association. It is concerned with modern materials science and combines explorative research in physics, chemistry and materials science with technological development of new materials and products. The research programme focuses on functional materials for applications including superconducting and magnetic materials, thin film systems and nanostructures as well as crystalline and amorphous materials.

IFW participated in the FP7 project EFECTS for device deposition by methods including inkjet printing, and is a partner in EUROTAPES, working to optimise YBCO coated conductors.
