University of Nizwa
The University of Nizwa was established in the Sultanate of Oman in 2004 as a faculty governed not-for-profit private university. It aspires to become an education and research hub in the GCC.
Energy and industrial research are major themes in the University's College of Arts and Sciences. This is evidenced by the ongoing activities in the Department of Chemistry and Biological Sciences as well as the foundation of a new dedicated Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy. A major research topic will be the development of materials and devices for energy applications such as solar cells, batteries, supercapacitors, and others. Printing and other deposition techniques are one of the main tools in this research area.
